CARREGHOFA - LOCAL COMMUNITY SERVICES CHANGES CONSULTATION
DATED: 20th FEBRUARY 2015
POWYS COUNTY COUNCIL (PCC) have recently engaged with Community Councils on the possible way forward on Community Councils taking on the responsibility for some services (devolved services). Two meetings, Welshpool Town Council and at Llanfechain have taken place where PCC have outlined the potential way forward. Both meetings have been attended and below is a summary of the meeting at Llanfechain. PCC are proposing this change in the light of the Williams Report on changes to Council operation in Wales. Nothing is carved in stone and there is some way to go before deciding how we as Communty Council will operate. The options are to stay as we are and then have to fund some of the services ourselves or be part of a group of Community Councils (suggestion of around 8 in number) and pool resources. Below is a link to the discussions held at Llanfechain. Your feedback would be welcome.
